Okay this is going to be a review on the Eureka episode Shower the People. So if you don't want to be spoiled or don't like the Tess/Jack pairing, stay away.

Well, they suck, my recognition skills. Keeping to the general topic of the last few posts....

The new character on A Town Called Eureka (Tess Fontana) is played by Jamie Ray Newman. I knew I recognised the name and I'm sure I recognised the actress. It's not one of those times when it constantly bugs you as to who it is, I just thought, hmm, she's familiar and then didn't do anything about it.

Anyway, when I was looking stuff up about Eureka's Season 3, I noticed that Newman has been in Stargate Atlantis. Confused (thinking maybe she was in Season 5 - which I didn't watch), I typed her name and Atlantis into google...and...

OMFG it's Cadman! lol I knew I recognised her, but obviously not well enough.

Now, I'm just gonna see her as Laura Cadman instead of Tess Fontana...I must forget I ever found out.

Oh well...I just felt like sharing my terrible skils of recognition (this is because Cadman was actually one of my fave characters in Season 2 of SGA) with the world. *grin*

Well I didn't even have my original crap Photo Impressions 4 software so I used the lovely google to look for some freeware. I found Photoscape and I love it.

Here's an example of one of the first icons I've created (AND I've only just scraped the surface with what this software can do!)

Well, the second half of 'A Town Called Eureka' has started up again in the (not so sunny) UK. And I don't know what it is, but I must damn the show now!! Since it has began, it's been a fave, up there with Stargate and BSG...but it was the ONLY show I didn't ship in.

Oh sure I could see the OBVIOUS Allison/Jack or Allison/Nathan triangle thingy-ma-bob, but I just didn't like it...

And now?! The second half of the new season (Season 3 to be exact) has me battling my shipper self. A new character has been introduced. Tess Fontana. The new Section head of Section 5. It's obvious that the writers are intending to make some sort of triangle between Tess/Jack/Allison, I even read online that it was their intention, which is why I'm having an inner battle.

I tend to watch for the science fiction stay for the ship. 'Eureka didn't need that for me to watch. Also, normally I ship due to the Oh-so squeeable chemistry between characters (Sparky in Stargate Atlantis) and not because it was canon. Even some canon ships I love so much (SJ in SG-1 or Adama/Roslin in BSG) because of the obvious chemistry but I've never liked forced pairings.

This is why I'm fighting my shipper head. As soon as Tess popped onto the screen and started arguing with Jack Carter some shippy lightbulb sprung to life in my head...BUT then as soon as it became totally obvious that the whole thing was forced, the chemistry my brain had sniffed out suddenly seemed to slowly seep away. I can tell Carter is still head over heals for Allison (doesn't help that she's preggers and totally still fancies him) but there's just something.

I just needed to ramble on here for two reasons:

1) I needed a rant. There's no way I'm discussing this with my dad (who watches the show too) especially since he actually LIKES Allison/Jack (only cause he hated Stark!! How he hated that gorgeous specimen of mankind I'll never know! lol)
2) I want, no, NEED people's opinions on this. If you're a fan of the show, what are your views on the shippy triangle appearing?

Oh and Andie O'Neill, if you read this, don't try and convert me, I know you're a slasher!! lol I don't ship slash! *grin* Hmm, but actually I really would like your opinion, since I know you're a deffo fan of the show!
